Ben & Jerry's ice cream announced a new flavor on Tuesday, Pecan Resist, "with the intention to resist the current [Trump] administration's regressive agenda, celebrating the activists who are continuing to resist oppression." In addition, the ice cream
The grant program is known as the ‘Ethnic Community Self-help Program’ run out of the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (HHS).
At one point I followed their activities closely and began a file on it, see here, but too much breaking news pushed the subject to the back burner.
First, as you know, nine federal resettlement contractors*** are hired by the US State Department to place refugees in your towns and cities. Their job is to help the refugees settle in and get them signed up for their ‘services.’
You also know that the nine are paid by the head to place those refugees, but in addition the Office of Refugee Resettlement doles out many millions more each year to non-profit groups including those nine in the form of discretionary grants.
But, what you might not know is that an entire cottage industry of non-profits have sprung up which get federal grants in most cases to benefit their specific ethnic group—Ethnic Community Based Organizations (ECBOs for short).
The grants are ostensibly to help the refugees integrate into a community, but one might wonder then why the funding is specific to groups that are maintaining their own cultural identity.Continue reading
Surely you know all about Democrat Mayor Bill Peduto shunning the President and his family when they went to Pittsburgh yesterday to pay their respects to those murdered in the synagogue attack last Saturday. Here is one of many stories about the Mayor’s snub.
And, here is Peduto with Chris Matthews:
By the way, the Rabbi, who was leading services on Saturday when the attack happened, welcomed the President saying “he is my President.”
So, what does this have to do with RRW?Continue reading
I know things are tense as we head into the final week before the midterm elections, but if you want to comment here at RRW, you gotta tone it down.
Many of you are new readers, so you don’t know about my policy regarding comments. I have a few rules. First, no threats of violence to anyone. No foul language. And, no attacking another commenter personally. You can attack their ideas and opinions, but not the person.
Frankly, if you can’t make your point with a good argument, attacking someone personally only makes you and your opinion look weak.
I moderate comments when I have time, so you may not see yours posted immediately.
And, I apologize, I had a look at RRW’s spam folder the other day and see that wordpress has been sending some of you, even long-time commenters, to spam for no apparent reason. I’ll check that more often.Continue reading
I recently appeared on the popular Arabic-language program, Su’al Jari’ (“Daring Question”), hosted by Brother Rachid, a Muslim convert to Christianity with penetrating insights. We discussed my new book, Sword and Scimitar. Titled “The History of the Wars between Islam and the West,” the hour long video (conducted entirely in Arabic) follows:
The post Arabic-Language Video: Brother Rachid and Raymond Ibrahim on Sword and Scimitar appeared first on Raymond Ibrahim.

Sorry no time to write much today, but I want you to have something to read, so have a look at a report at the Center for Immigration Studies about aliens voting.
Surely, you have all pondered the fact that as aliens of all stripes get drivers’ licenses, they can simply check a box and register to vote in the licensing process.
No one asks that they produce their citizenship papers at the DMV!
Remember it isn’t just illegal aliens! Refugees and other classes of legal immigrant can easily do this even if they haven’t yet gone through the citizenship process.
And, don’t you wonder how many of those hundreds of thousands of recipients of Temporary Protected Status are acting like legal citizens and voting?Continue reading
Gatestone Institute “Another wave of persecution will be the end of Christianity after 2,000 years” of it in Iraq, one Iraqi Christian leader recently declared. In an interview earlier this month, Chaldean Archbishop Habib Nafali of Basra discussed how more than a decade of violent persecution has virtually annihilated Iraq’s Christian minority. Since the 2003 […]
“PLO Executive Committee member [and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front] Dr. Wasel Abu Yusuf said: … ‘The leadership stands determinedly before the pressures and extortion policies, and the stopping of the aid and money, while depending on the justice of the cause and the sacrifice of the Palestinian people. We will never relinquish our people’s rights, and we will never allow them to be harmed. We adhere to our loyalty to the Martyrs (Shahids), prisoners, and wounded, and to the suffering and sacrifice of the Palestinian people. Despite the threats and pressures, we will not agree to harming the rights of the Martyrs’ families and the rights of the prisoners - and this is a sacred principle as far as we are concerned; and the priority, as the President [Abbas] said, will be the families of the Martyrs and the prisoners.’”
Wasel Abu Yusuf also holds the role of head of the PLO Department of Popular Organizations.
The president emphasized that the salaries (rawatib) of our Martyrs (Shahids), prisoners, and wounded are a red line and that their rights must not be compromised, and also that from its first stone the settlement [enterprise] is illegal and opposes international law.”
The PA TV video shows a woman who represents "ancient Palestinians" (or possibly Muslims) going through the history of the land - replacing the Jewish people's actual history. The woman is introduced in a peaceful scene feeding birds in a period predating the Roman conquest of Judea and destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. Suddenly the scene is disturbed, the birds scatter and the woman runs away from various foreign invaders: first an ancient Roman soldier, then a Crusader, then a British soldier, and finally a Jew (wearing a skullcap), who throws a lit cigarette at her.
In the final scene, the woman stops fleeing when a man on a horse - the "new" Muslim conqueror Saladin who defeated the Crusaders - extends his hand and helps her up the mountain. He represents the coming savior who will "liberate Palestine" from Jewish-Israeli rule. In the end, the woman stands on the top of the mountain, fleeing no one anymore, symbolizing that Israel is gone like the other foreign rulers.

“The alleged ‘Temple organizations’ called on their supporters and the settler public to participate in their masses in invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning [Oct. 30, 2018], in conjunction with the elections for the occupation’s municipality and the city councils of the settlements.”
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
"Temple organizations" refer to religious Jewish movements including the Temple Mount Institute, the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, The Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount and Students for the Temple Mount, which spread awareness of the importance of the Temple Mount in Judaism and encourage people to visit the site.
The Central Council emphasized its adherence to our right to resist the occupation in all manners (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror), in accordance with international law. It praised the resolve of the prisoners of freedom in the Israeli occupation’s prisons… The Council opposed the American extortion - the Taylor Force Act, and the Israeli government’s decision to deduct the allowances (mukhassasat) of the families of the Martyrs, prisoners, and wounded from the Palestinian tax money, while blatantly violating international law...”
